April’s Solar Eclipse

On Friday, April 8th there will be a visible solar eclipse in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This will be the first solar eclipse in the United States since 2017. This event will not happen again until 2044. The exact date of the next solar eclipse will be on August 23rd, 2044. A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, blocking the earths view of the sun.

The top five locations to get the best view of the eclipse are; Dallas, Indianapolis, Northeast Ohio, Hot Springs National Park (Arkansas), and Houlton Maine. The eclipse will begin approximately at 1:27 p.m. and end around 4:35 p.m.
