JTA Bus Opportunities

Daniel Ricks, Reporter

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) plans to make it easier for students to get home at the end of a long day of school. The JTA plans to start a six-month pilot program in January that will let middle and high school students ride city buses for free from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. The program allows students to use it for school related activities, afterschool jobs, and late school passes if they do not pass the 7 o’clock timeframe. “JTA spokesperson David Cawton “says the extended hours mean kids don’t have to miss after-school activities.” To start students will need to show a valid student ID so they can take advantage of the My-Ride-2-School program as well. You can find the bus schedule at the JTA website. – https://www.jtafla.com/
